Sean Stewart is working on an illustrated oral history of the 60s underground press to be released by PM Press in the fall of 2011. The project grew out of an underground press exhibit at Babylon Falling, an independent revolutionary bookstore and art gallery that Sean ran in San Francisco. Born in 1979 of Jamaican parents, Sean spent his formative years in Kingston. We discuss the underground press, its historical context, and some of the people who made it happen, as well as his experiences with the bookstore in San Francisco, his reflections on Jamaica, and much more.
